DOJO

Project:
Launching the Dojo Card Pilot

Ustwo@Dojo

Role:

Product Design Lead

Dojo set out to launch an issuing arm of their business, a new spending card designed to empower merchants and streamline their financial management. As Product Design Lead within the New Business Ventures tribe, I played a pivotal role in bringing the pilot to life.

Over four months, I partnered closely with the Issuing squad, Compliance, and the wider App Design team to deliver the pilot under tight deadlines. Taking a hands-on approach, I led research, defined user flows, and designed the end-to-end experience, shaping the product vision and ensuring it integrated seamlessly with other Dojo offerings, such as Business Funding.

The project also became a testbed for Dojo’s new brand. I introduced a series of simple, elegant UX patterns that enhanced usability and were later incorporated into the company’s design system.

The result was a modern, intuitive financial product that exceeded expectations, laying the groundwork for future expansion in Dojo’s product ecosystem.

A hands-on approach across the process

Leading the research and early UX work, I undertook a range of activities, from facilitating customer co-creation workshops to identifying and mapping key flows and building prototypes.

Building initial flows

Working closely with our solutions architect, I created early flow diagrams to tackle complex challenges. Onboarding was a particular hurdle, and we developed a way for customers to sign up without ID verification, making it easier to recruit users for the pilot.

Mapping out the experience

I designed 14 flows for both Android and iOS, simplifying complexity to ensure the product met strict compliance regulations while providing users with everything they needed according to our MVP roadmap.

Co-creating with customers

We met with real Dojo customers to explore ideas around the spending card proposition and dive into current and future features. Feedback was very positive, helping us validate our approach and inspiring thinking beyond the MVP pilot.

Bringing things to life

I built several prototypes to demonstrate key interactions for developers and test ideas, such as integrating business funding as a feature. These prototypes also raised awareness of the project across the business.
